App license and these service terms

The PocketDesk app obtained through the App Store uses Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement: www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These service terms describe your use of PocketDesk accounts, pairing, and connection services. They supplement the applicable app license and do not replace Apple’s rules for App Store purchases.

By using these services, you agree to these terms. If applicable law requires a parent or guardian’s permission or other authorization, obtain it before using the services. Nothing here reduces rights that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.

Devices you are authorized to control

Use PocketDesk only with a Mac you own or have clear permission to access and control. You are responsible for obtaining permission from the device owner and other people whose information may appear on it.

Do not use PocketDesk for unauthorized access, covert monitoring, theft, harassment, unlawful activity, or bypassing someone else’s security controls. Do not interfere with the connection services, test other people’s codes, or use another person’s account without permission.

Accounts and pairing

Keep your sign-in account, device access, pairing keys, QR codes, and connection credentials secure. Only register Macs you are authorized to control. The 26-character local pairing key and the six-digit account-registration code serve different purposes; provide either only through the PocketDesk flow on your own devices.

You can use local-network connections without a PocketDesk account. Access from outside the local network requires an account, a registered Mac, prior local pairing on the iPhone or iPad, and an active subscription when that service is offered. Availability depends on the released build, network, host state, and service availability.

App Store production use and testing through TestFlight or App Review use separate production and Sandbox test account and subscription services. Test accounts, Mac registrations, and test purchases do not transfer to the production service. Use the Mac Host version that matches the service selected by your iPhone/iPad app; local-network pairing remains available without a cloud account.

Subscriptions and payment

Local-network connections are free. Subscription plans for access from outside that network are offered through Apple in the app when available. The purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation show the current price, currency, billing period, and any eligible introductory offer before you buy.

Apple charges your Apple Account and manages billing. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until canceled under Apple’s purchase terms. Trial availability depends on Apple’s eligibility rules; if a trial is offered, the confirmation shows when billing begins and the price afterward.

Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions; while a subscription is active, PocketDesk → Account → Manage opens the same Apple screen. Cancel before the renewal or trial deadline shown by Apple. Apple’s cancellation instructions: support.apple.com/en-us/118428.

To restore a purchase, use the Apple Account that made the purchase, sign in to the same PocketDesk sign-in identity used for that purchase, and choose Restore purchase on the subscription screen. Purchases cannot be transferred to a different PocketDesk sign-in identity. The same verified identity can restore a valid subscription after deleting and recreating its account. If payment appears complete but remote access is unavailable, use the activation retry action or contact support; purchasing again is not required to report the problem.

Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, subject to Apple’s rules and applicable law: support.apple.com/en-us/118223. Deleting PocketDesk, signing out, removing a Mac, or deleting the PocketDesk account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

PocketDesk Anywhere supports at most four concurrent cross-network connections per account, with one active cross-network session per Mac. If a Mac is already in use, end the existing session on the connected device before connecting again. Connection availability also depends on the host, network, and service capacity.

Host availability and safe use

The Mac must be powered on, running the host software, sharing, and have the permissions and network access required for the session. PocketDesk has no wake-from-sleep or remote-unlock feature and does not show the Mac’s lock screen.

Connection quality depends on both devices and their networks. Sessions may fail or disconnect. Save your work regularly. PocketDesk is not designed for emergency or safety-critical control. You remain responsible for actions you perform in the remote applications.

Cross-network access ends when the service confirms that the subscription has expired or been revoked, the Mac association has been removed, or the account has been deleted. Start a new authorized connection after any required subscription or registration changes have been completed.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains account information, connection logs, subscriptions, and remote-session data: getpocketdesk.com/privacy/. Use the service with appropriate consent for any other person’s information visible on the Mac.

Suspension, ending service, and deletion

You may stop sharing, stop using PocketDesk, remove a Mac from your account, or delete your account in the app. Successful account deletion revokes Apple authorization and removes server-side identity and device associations in the service environment currently used by that installation. The limited subscription-ledger retention and deletion deadlines are explained in the Privacy Policy. Data in another test or production environment is not automatically deleted; email support.pocketdesk@gmail.com to request deletion there. Account deletion does not cancel Apple billing or remove local pairing information.

We may restrict service access where reasonably necessary to address unauthorized use, a security incident, a legal requirement, or a material breach of these terms. Where reasonably possible, we provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. You can contact us if you believe access was restricted in error.

If we discontinue a paid connection service, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and information about cancellation and any remedy available under applicable law.

Availability and your legal rights

We aim to provide a usable connection service, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, a particular connection speed, or compatibility with every network and application. The app license governs software warranties and related limitations, subject to applicable law.

These terms do not exclude liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any mandatory consumer rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as service features or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes affecting a paid service will be communicated where required; existing mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
